Tony Montana has been DJing since the late eighties, and has been responsible for promoting nights such as T.A.B (Technical Audio Beats) and Euphonic, and has connections with the free party scene through Panik, Under Ground Sound and Red Bin sound systems. In 2002 he graduated from Leeds college of music which has resulted in him working and DJing with artist such as Dope Smugglaz, 20/20 Vision, Liberator DJs, The Geezer, Darc Marc and Geriant Hughes. In 2004 things grew for Tony with the breakthrough of his own record label T.A.B. He is currently also a resident at BlackBox in Brighton, and regularly plays sets around Europe and beyond.
When Tony got together with Henry Cullen (aka D.A.V.E. The Drummer) for studio sessions at the infamous Punishment Farm studios in 2009, they knew the result would be something special. So far they’ve recorded several tracks together, which they have been playing regularly, to great response, at their gigs around the country and around the globe. So far, their tracks have been picked up for release by Mutate to Survive, Hydraulix and... Plastica. They range from tough driving techno grooves to deep tech‐house dubs and as Tony and Henry get more into their working relationship the tracks keep getting better and better.
Plastica now brings you two new tracks from Tony Montana. El Toro is a collaboration with D.A.V.E. The Drummer, which will keep the floor filled for the full nine minutes of it. On the flipside is Audio Drop, with contributions from fellow BlackBox DJs Ando Mafia and Tom Rox.
