About

Dan Cat's been around in the London scene for some time now, first as a member of the Cheshire Catz, and later as a perennial at a quite amazing number of afterparties.

These days, he's solo and working on his own idea for the dancefloor. House and techno are too instructional, he says. "Here's the bassline, there's the drop, and here's - surprise! - the breakdown." So instead, here are two new tracks that buck the trend for grooves tucked neatly away, and drops that happen exactly as you'd expect.

He calls it "non-instructional house and nonchalant techno". But we think of it as the Little Green People EP. Muttering voices, cries of "DISCO!" and even the occasional Jethro Tull touch of flute - all within the stepping disco bassline of That Was Hot, and the remarkably loose, here-comes-the-cops! arrangement of Outa Bongolia.
